IMPORTANT BOOKING INFO

Please note this info may vary for film/TV/photoshoots/etc, depending on the booking.  This info is mostly intended for those booking personal makeup.
Please reach out with any questions.

Deposits

In order to book your makeup, a non-refundable deposit is required.  The deposit amount is generally 50% of the makeup fee, however this may change, depending on the job.  For example, if I need to purchase out of kit supplies just for your makeup (ie: a custom prosthetic), these may be billed upfront in addition to the 50% deposit to secure your booking.

Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.  The deposit secures your booking with me, cancellations can have a serious impact to my schedule, my kit, and other clients.  Therefore, deposits are non-refundable, unless in case of an extreme circumstance, or I have to cancel on you.  In which case, a refund can be issued.

Covid-19 scenarios do not count as extreme circumstance, as Covid has, unfortunately, been around a while now and is not something new.  If your event is cancelled due to Covid, we can use the deposit to rebook you for a different day, but a refund will not be issued in this case.

Covid-19

Last updated: August 31st, 2022

Due to the current Covid situation, some extra precautions are taken.  All equipment, makeups, tools, etc. will be sanitized between clients using either a makeup brush cleaner or alcohol wipes/spray.  This will add a bit of extra time to bookings, to ensure I am able to properly clean between each client.  I also ask that you limit the number of people with you for your booking to only those who need to be there.  You may bring 1 friend if needed.
Masks are no longer required by law, but I can absolutely wear one if that would make you feel more comfortable, please just ask.

On the day of your booking

If you need to cancel, please let me know ASAP so someone else may take your spot, as I may have other clients who would like to take that time (especially during Halloween). Please do not no-show.  Remember deposits are non-refundable.

Please arrive approximately 5 minutes early - it's better to be a few minutes early, rather than late.

During busy times (ie: Halloween), I do apologize if I am running late at all, sometimes a makeup ends up requiring more time than anticipated, or a previous client shows up late and off-sets my tight schedule.  You being on time is important to make sure I don’t run into the next appointment.

If you are running late, please call or text me so I can try to adjust my schedule accordingly.  Remember, showing up late means less time for your makeup.

If you are interested in coming earlier, don't hesitate to reach out, it could be possible, please ask.

Try to take care of your skin leading up to your appointment. Keep yourself hydrated, moisturize, wash your face daily, use sunscreen, chap stick etc.  Makeup can only be as amazing as the skin I am putting it on, which means super dry or broken skin may affect the final product of your look, plus self-care is always good!

If you have any allergies or skin conditions, please let me know in advance.  Some of the products I use are alcohol based or activated and may be drying. Anyone getting prosthetic pieces will likely have (small amounts) of acetone used.  This will not hurt you, but can be drying as well.

If you have facial hair and are able to be clean shaven, please do so (also, please apply aftershave so the makeup doesn’t irritate your freshly shaven skin).

If you normally wear makeup, please try not to (unless we've discussed otherwise), as we will have to remove it.

If we need to match colours to your costume or we are painting down your neck/chest to the costume line, please either have your costume with you or have an idea of the colours we need to match / where the neckline is, so I can make sure the makeup is appropriate.

If your appointment is at my residence, please be aware I do have a cat and a dog.  I always clean prior to any appointments, but this is a heads up in case you have allergies.  Both animals will be in a separate room for the duration of your appointment.·

Removing makeup

Soap and warm water will remove most face/body paints, but a waterproof makeup remover is recommended.

SFX/prosthetic makeup/anything involving glue, I recommend purchasing spirit gum remover or bond off (can usually be bought at Halloween or makeup stores in the fall season).

Sometimes during Halloween, I do makeup and sell small bottles of remover, please inquire if you are interested.

Payment

Please have cash available for payment.  Proper change is encouraged, as I don't always have change available.  EMT is accepted, but must be deposited before you depart after makeup.

Film/TV/photoshoots/etc - payment can be discussed with contract.

Photographs & filming

You may be filmed and photographed before, during and/or after your makeup application.  These videos and images may be posted to social media sites and used as promotional material online, business cards, posters, etc.  If you have an issue with this and would prefer not to be filmed or photographed please let me know in advance.

If you would like to share any media with me (photos/videos of you in your makeup), please let me know, as I would love to share on social media.
